The WayFinders Initiative is dedicated to rebuilding trust between institutions and the communities they serve.

Through research, education, and advocacy, we’re advancing restorative approaches that centre survivor voices, prevent future harm, and create lasting institutional change across healthcare, education, criminal justice, and beyond.

The WayFinders Initiative has grown from the same roots as The WayFinders Group—a belief that when harm occurs, repair is always possible. The WayFinders Initiative exists to research and address that deeper need designing solutions across the public and private sectors.

As a charitable organisation, we focus on research, education, advocacy, and coalition building that serves the public benefit.

For three years, we have been working with organisations in crisis, helping leaders navigate their most challenging moments through board repair and emergency interventions. We’ve seen first-hand what happens when institutions fail to acknowledge harm in a timely manner, when apologies ring hollow, when accountability processes exclude the voices that matter most.

Through this work, a clear pattern emerged: the organisations seeking our help weren’t outliers. They were experiencing the same systemic accountability failures playing out across Britain’s institutions—from healthcare to education, criminal justice to local government. Individual organisations needed repair support, but the system itself needed transformation.

We’re advancing policy reforms, amplifying survivor voices, and building the evidence base for restorative approaches to institutional accountability across all sectors. The consultancy provides the frontline insight. Our charity translates that learning into systemic change through:

  • research on restorative approaches to institutional accountability
  • policy development and legislative advocacy for survivor-centred reform
  • educational resources advancing public understanding
  • coalition support strengthening civil society capacity
  • survivor voice amplification in accountability processes

We believe the testimonials above reflect our core commitments:

  • deep listening to understand the full context of institutional challenges
  • skilled synthesis of complex information and diverse perspectives
  • unwavering focus on sustainable, transformative outcomes
  • creating space for all voices to be heard with dignity and respect
  • tireless dedication to finding pathways forward when traditional approaches have failed

Whether working with public institutions, corporates, NGOs, charities, legal partners, or in the community, we bring these same values to every engagement.
